Bordertown was established as a "resting place" or "watering hole" during the gold rush era. The South Australian Government wanted the gold that was being mined by South Australian miners in Ballarat to be returned to South Australia. Therefore, they organized a police escort to see the gold returned and they established Bordertown as a "resting place" and a "watering hole" for the escorts.

We believe that in the natural so in the spiritual and God is establishing and redeeming the purpose of Bordertown and it will continue to grow as a spiritual "resting place" and "watering hole" to this Nation and beyond.
